Homemade Goodness, Delivered

Tequila Bishop Jones grew up the only child of Rosa Lee and Arthur Bishop. She grew up watching her mother, who was also a foster parent, cook and bake daily for her dad and her many foster sisters and brothers. Rosa Lee’s talent and love for baking quickly rubbed off on Tequila. At the age of 14, Tequila baked her first batch of homemade cookies. Soon after, she asked her mother to teach her to bake cakes. Tequila caught on very quickly and it was apparent to her mom that she had a natural talent for baking. 

 

After her mother, who was affectionately known as Bae B, passed away, Tequila formed a relationship with a close family friend, Wanda Taylor Reese, who became like a second mother to her. Wanda saw Tequila’s talent for baking and introduced her to the art of baking pound cakes. Tequila found herself baking more to help her feel closer to her mother. As her friends tasted her baked goods, they encouraged her to bake for events and during the holidays. This has since evolved into what we now know as O' Bae B cakes.
